A Mickey First Birthday W/ A Twist

Taneva and I have been brainstorming on how to make a Mickey Mouse party unique without replicating the traditional- black, white, red and yellow events we’ve seen in the past. We settled on Disco Mickey…

This first birthday was a challenge. We wanted to do so much, however space was limited. The decision was made to prioritize the feature wall and the kids’ play area. We didn’t do any adult seating and only one kids’ table for 12.

PRO TIP: We often advise clients to not seat every child invited, create a table for half the invited guests. The kids’ tablescape is truly for aesthetics only because with so many activities at the party kids typically don’t sit at the table.

The design process began with the logo, designed by D & S Creations.

Siria was THE BEST with setting the foundation for our event design with her graphic design. We went through several iterations to get everything perfect.

Originally, we planned for this awe-inspiring ball pit to be front and center in the room. After considering the flow of guest traffic and the lobbing of balls across the room by the kids, Iconic Bounce recommended placing it in the corner. This worked amazingly.

The kids’ table we intensionally kept simple to not compete with the feature wall. A placemat, sippy cup, and favor box … DONE.

Let’s talk about our cake- three tiered, black matte, disco ball embellished, sitting stately on top of our hand crafted disco plinth.

We save the best for last- the shimmering black & silver balloon installation! It was nothing short of spectacular!

There is no Petite Socials event without party stations to keep the children entertained throughout the event. For Baby Kane we had an ice cream cart, build a bear, hat decorating, merch station, and a clog station.
